PERMANENT LIP COLOR

If you have a history of cold sores, you need to ask your doctor or dentist for an ANTI-VIRAL MEDICATION TO PREVENT A COLD-SORE OUTBREAK.  Many use Valtrex or Acyclovir 500 mg. 3x/daily for at least 2 days prior to EACH PROCEDURE APPOINTMENT and continue to take it 3 days after your procedure (a total of 5 days). I am not a medical doctor and defer to your doctor's recommendations. Please note that I will not perform a lip procedure on a client with a history of cold sores unless you are taking a prescription anti-viral prescribed by your doctor.

NO EXCEPTIONS.

DO NOT DO THESE THINGS

• Do not work out 24 hours before procedure.
• No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before procedure.
• Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure.
• Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes (Shakeology, etc),  and "Hair, Skin, & Nail" supplements two weeks prior to procedure.
• No botox in lip area or lip filler/injections 3 weeks prior to procedure.
• No deep exfoliation 2 weeks prior (ex. Chemical peel)
• No antibiotics 4 weeks prior to appointment. 

DO THESE THINGS

• Arnica Montana tablets are a homeopathic that can help with bruising and swelling and is safe to take before the procedure and right after.  
• Gently exfoliate your lips by brushing with a damp tooth brush or a sugar scrub, followed by a thin coat of aquaphor, coconut oil, or other moisturizing lip balm in the days leading up to your appointment.

Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.  These Pre-Care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service.
